Manufacture of fuels and refined petroleum products

NACE 2002 - 23 Manufacture of coke, refined petroleum products and nuclear fuel
The manufacture of fuels is not very significant in terms of employment. As there is a high degree of automation of manufacturing operations, the industry shows a low level of dependence on the output level. This is why a potential increase or decrease in demand in the following years will not have a major impact on the number of employees.
In view of the low level of labour productivity (in terms of comparison with developed EU countries) it is likely that, in spite of the growing output, demand for workers will tend to decrease. This concerns mainly employees in the coke and petroleum refining industries. This segment also includes the manufacture of nuclear fuels. The CR currently has a certain stock of uranium, but the scope of its extraction is limited and the fuel for the operation of Czech nuclear power plants will probably continue to be purchased abroad.
