Change in future demand for this occupational group: Jedna šipka nahoru / pak dolů
Trends in demand for this occupational group:
The job of a quality inspector/controller is normally designed for experienced workers and it is not suitable for recent graduates. It requires practical experience is the relevant type of manufacturing or business operation. In view of the growing demands for certification and standards and in view of the harmonisation of standards in international companies and the networks of their suppliers, demand for these occupations will grow over the short term and exceed the supply at the labour market (particularly in qualitative terms). However, in the longer term the jobs of quality controllers will be threatened by technological advancement – i.e. automated quality control systems will gradually tend to replace them.
Skill needs required:
Workers seeing to the quality of manufacturing must be, first of all, systematic and thoroughgoing. They must be able to communicate with people, propose improvements aimed at elimination of flaws in manufacturing processes and, consequently, to ensure elimination of faults in final products. They must be acquainted with the relevant legislation and capable of assuming responsibility for the outputs of a department (or the entire manufacturing operation, the entire business).
