Karel Kučera appointed a new CEO of CzechInvest /22. 10. 2014/

Karel Kučera was appointed a new CEO of the Business and Investment Development Agency CzechInvest. He becomes a successor of Ondřej Votruba CzechInvest, a former CEO of the CzechInvest Agency, who was appointed by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Jan Mládek in February this year.

The CzechInvest CEO Karel Kučera was appointed on the basis of the selection procedures. "Management of the CzechInvest Agency will be in the hands of a man with experience from multinational companies and private investor sector. His experience will help with finding new investors and in the realization of future investment in the Czech Republic” said the Minister of Industry and Trade, Jan Mládek and added that the new CEO should continue to strengthen the independent role of the CzechInvest.

"I would like to thank Mr Ondřej Votruba for the work he has done. Mr. Votruba will continue to act in the management of the CzechInvest Agency” added Minister Jan Mládek.

The new CEO of the CzechInvest Karel Kučera graduated from the University of Economics, Faculty of International Relations, and the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague. He worked in several multinational companies and managed major projects for investors and management focused on the development or change the functioning of a company.

"In my new position, I want to complete and efficiently exploit the potential of a network of foreign offices of the CzechInvest and strengthen their focus on direct communication with investors. I want to increase the activity of the Agency in foreign markets and improve the management and coordination of these activities” said Karel Kučera.

The CzechInvest Agency is the MIT´s subordinated organization. Its role is to strengthen the competitiveness of the Czech economy, attracting foreign investment in the industrial production, strategic services and technology centres. Its portfolio also includes the support of small and medium—sized enterprises, business infrastructure and innovation. The CzechInvest has currently a completed regional network in the Czech Republic and offices in six countries.
