Trends in demand for this occupational group:

The demand for marketing specialists will grow. On the other hand, marketing is a very popular field of study among young people and the number of graduates is increasing. Companies are unlikely to face difficulties finding suitable candidates. The importance attributed to marketing by Czech companies will tend to grow. While Czech producers are still rather passive in this respect, the role of active marketing will be increasingly significant in the long term.  Marketing and sales activities will be one of key preconditions
(along with product and process innovations and optimised logistics) for success. They will entail the monitoring of trends and forecasting demand for specific types of product, specific design and accompanying services.

Skill needs required:

The requirements cover high quality presentation and argumentation skills and a very good knowledge of the given product. A comprehensive knowledge of the market where the product is being placed is also a must, and so is understanding of customer preferences and the capacity to recommend product innovation on this basis.   In order to ensure a strong presence in the international market (also outside Europe) a marketing specialist must be able to identify new market opportunities, work with information about business and cultural specificities of these markets, and be able to design an appropriate communication strategy and have an insight into the international competitive environment. One prerequisite is the knowledge of foreign languages, particularly English, but other languages as well.
